'Warcraft' Producer Teases the Characters' Gray Morality
Movie

The producer of the video game adaptation says that he and his team want to make 'Warcraft' more than a film about 'the good guys versus the bad guys.'

AceShowbiz - Following the first trailer for "Warcraft", new details about the movie's plot have arrived. Producer Stuart Fennegan hinted that the movie would be a human-versus-orc movie, but it would include some particular things that made people understand both sides.

It is known that the Horde will be the main villain in the movie with the Allience becoming protagonist. However, Fennegan said that the Horde might not be completely bad guys. "Rather than, oh, it's the good guys versus the bad guys... I think you know we really want to make sure that an audience, whether they know what the hell the Alliance and the Horde are, when they leave go, it's like, yeah, he was a good guy. And that guy was a good guy too," the producer said.

"That understanding of a perspective from both sides... that's what I think the Blizzard guys were going for without getting too deep into it... and I think you know there's an opportunity to make sure that both sides of every conflict always think they're right."

When asked about Blood Elves' involvement in the movie, the producer answered it vaguely, indicating that the characters aren't likely to appear in the upcoming movie. Fennegan then continued saying that the film would focus on the origin of orcs versus humans. "[We're] focusing in on the origin of Orcs versus humans. So, you know, there's plenty of characters that we all love and care about. But, for us really establishing that world and three dimensional orcs that you care about was really important. And that's the focus for this film," he said.

Other things that fans can expect from the movie are the insane details, including the characters, costumes, sets and computer effects. Mayes Rubeo, one of the crew members in the costume department, said that 700 costumes were used for the film, including the animal armor.

Fans can look at the details through some stills and behind-the-scenes images of the movie which were debuted recently. One of them is a high-angle shot which gives an inside look at an ancient mansion with an octagonal conference table and some traditional chandeliers.

"Warcraft" will take place about a year before the events in "World of Warcraft" and will be told from the Alliance perspective. The movie stars Travis Fimmel, Ben Foster, Dominic Cooper, Toby Kebbell and Robert Kazinsky. Directed by Duncan Jones, the video game adaptation is set to open in the U.S. on June 10, 2016.
