The 'Edge of Tomorrow' actor will squeeze in 'Luna Park' before reprising his role as Ethan Hunt in the sixth installment of 'Mission: Impossible' movie franchise.

Tom Cruise is now busy working on "Jack Reacher: Never Go Back" with Paramount. After the sequel to 2012's "Jack Reacher" finishes production, the "Oblivion" star is expected to return for "Mission: Impossible 6". However, Variety reports that Cruise, along with his "Edge of Tomorrow" director Doug Liman, will do moon-set heist movie "Luna Park" before portraying agent Ethan Hunt once again.

Liman has been developing "Luna Park" for quite some time, but the movie took a significant step after Cruise was attached to the project to possibly play a lead role. According to the site's source, "Pan" scribe Jason Fuchs has been tapped to write the latest draft of the script with the hope that the movie can commence production next year.

"Luna Park" is a sci-fi movie revolving around a group of renegade employees who venture to the moon to steal an energy source. Official release date has yet to be announced, but the movie is expected to hit U.S. theaters in 2017.

Cruise and Liman have finished filming upcoming drug thriller flick "Mena" and now the movie is in post-production stage. Fuch is attached to tackle Warner Bros.' "Wonder Woman" and is developing "Rust" for 20th Century Fox. He will also appear as an actor in the upcoming musical "La La Land".
