'The idea of winning means that you're in competition with someone and I'm not in competition with anybody,' Depp reasoned.

AceShowbiz - Unlike many other film stars in Hollywood showbiz, Johnny Depp has revealed that he doesn't want to win any Oscars. "I don't want to win one of those things ever, you know," the 52-year-old actor told BBC at the London Film Festival premiere of his latest flick "Black Mass".

Asked to share the reason why he doesn't want to win the prestigious award, Depp declined to elaborate. "I don't want to have to talk," said the film hunk.

"They gave me one of those things, like a nomination, two or three times," Depp added. "A nomination is plenty ... The idea of winning means that you're in competition with someone and I'm not in competition with anybody. I just stick to my guns and do what I want to do. Sometimes people don't like it but that's alright."

Depp has had three Oscar nominations before for his roles in "Finding Neverland", "Sweeney Todd", and the first "Pirates of the Caribbean" film "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl". He is one of the frontrunners for an Oscar nomination in the Best Actor category this year for his work in the movie "Black Mass".
