The president called the rapper's intention on becoming the next U.S. leader strange but jokingly gave him three important points on how to succeed.

AceShowbiz - The news of Kanye West planning to run for president in 2020 has reached President Barack Obama's ears. The current U.S. president offers West political advice in front of 1,300 people crowding a Democratic National Committee fundraising event in San Francisco on Saturday, October 10 morning.

West made an announcement of going into politic at the recent MTV Video Music Awards. During his speech, Obama said, "In a little while you are going to hear from a guy who is thinking about getting into politics. You may have heard that Kanye is thinking about running [for] speaker of the house. It couldn't get any stranger. In case Kanye is serious about this whole POTUS thing, or as Kanye calls it, 'peezy.'"

The president went on offering some tips for the rapper. "First of all, you have to spend some time dealing with some strange characters who act like they're on a reality TV show. You gotta be cool with that," Obama said in reference to West's reality show star Kim Kardashian.

He continued, "Second important tip: Saying you have a beautiful dark twisted fantasy - that's what's known as off message in politics. People have lost congressional seats that way. And number three: Do you really think this country's going to elect a black guy from the South Side of Chicago with a funny name to be president of the U.S.? That's crazy." Both Obama and West hail from Chicago.

West was also in attendance at the event, being listed as performer. Kardashian was spotted among the audience who paid between $250-$10,000 to attend. "We'll say what Kanye has to say when he gets out here," the president said before getting into serious matters.
