AceShowbiz - Sony Pictures has released the first official trailer for "The 5th Wave", previewing an intense battle against aliens. The main protagonist in this movie is Cassie (Chloe Moretz), a young girl who has witnessed how "the others" gradually take over the Earth and took away her family, including her younger brother Sammy (Zackary Arthur).
As Cassie explains in the video, the first wave sees the alien invaders knocking out the world's power. The second wave brings earthquake and tsunami. The aliens send deadly plague in the third wave and the fourth wave sees "the others" inhabiting human bodies.
As Cassie prepares for the inevitable and lethal 5th wave, she teams up with a young man, Evan Walker (Alex Roe), who may become her final hope - if she can only trust him. Now, it's up to her to save her brother before "the others" erase humanity from Earth.
Based on Rick Yancey's YA novels of the same name, "The 5th Wave" is directed by J Blakeson with the script provided by Susannah Grant. Liev Schreiber, Ron Livingston, Nick Robinson and more are supporting the sci-fi flick, which is due out in the U.S. on January 15, 2016.
