AceShowbiz - Tom Hardy became enraged after a reporter asked him an irrelevant question at Toronto International Film Festival. The actor, his "Legend (2015)" co-star Emily Browning and director Brian Helgeland attended the movie's press release at the fest in which a question came up about his sexuality.
In "Legend", Hardy plays the infamous East End London gangster twins Ronnie and Reggie Kray. Ronnie was openly gay. A reporter from Toronto LGBT publication Daily Xtra apparently saw a link to Hardy's personal life, asking about Hardy's sexuality based on an interview he gave to Attitude magazine in 2008. The "Inception" star snapped, "What on earth are you on about?"
Hardy was once asked whether he had experimented with men. He was quoted as saying, "As a boy? Of course I have. I'm an actor for ****'s sake. I've played with everything and everyone. I love the form and the physicality, but now that I'm in my thirties, it doesn't do it for me. I'm done experimenting but there's plenty of stuff in a relationship with another man, especially gay men, that I need in my life."
Hardy later clarified his statement and denied that he was gay. "I have never put my p**is in a man. I've never had a c**k in my a**e, and I have no f**king desire for it. If that's what you like, cool. But it doesn't do it for me," he told Marie Claire. He said he was referring to experimenting for films not in real life.
Hardy was visibly upset that the subject matter was brought up again on Saturday, September 12. "But what is your question?" Hardy asked the reporter in a loud and resolute voice. The reporter asked again, "I'm wondering if you find it difficult for celebrities to talk about their sexuality." Hardy returned, "I don't find it difficult for celebrities to talk about their sexuality. Are you asking about my sexuality?" The reporter replied, "Hum ... sure."
Hardy then asked, "Why?" before dismissing the reporter with "thank you." According to THR, Browning and Helgeland looked on the exchange uncomfortably.
