Gearing up to kick off its fall TV season, The CW has shared an extended trailer for "The Flash" season 2. It teases the arrival of the new big baddie, Zoom (voiced by Tony Todd), whose presence is felt through some guys he sends to kill Barry Allen's (Grant Gustin).

Meanwhile, Jay Garrick a.k.a. Speedster (Teddy Sears) is featured explaining to Barry and his team at S.T.A.R. Labs the repercussions of opening a portal to other worlds. He also warns Barry about Zoom, "He's an unstoppable demon and your world is in danger."

The video additionally introduces Patty Spivot (Shantel VanSanten), a new love interest for Barry. She is described as a science enthusiast who is obsessed with metahumans and partners with Det. Joe West.

Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg explains the difference between this season's villain Zoom and last season's Reverse-Flash. "Reverse Flash felt like a warrior, and what we wanted this time was something more akin to a monster. When you finally see Zoom, he looks like a demon, and it's really scary. It's more horrific," he gushes. "You should feel like when one of H.R. Giger's aliens comes in the room. The mask is really amazing."

"The Flash" returns Tuesday, October 6 at 8 P.M. on The CW.
