"Scandal" has just added Mia Maestro to the cast for its season 5. The Carmen of "The Twilight Saga" movie series has been tapped for a major recurring role on the hit drama series. The character that she will play is still kept under wraps.

Maestro is also best known for playing Jennifer Garner's on-screen sister on "Alias" and for her role as Christina Kahlo in "Frida". She currently is a series regular on FX's "The Strain", which was created by Guillermo del Toro. That, however, didn't stop her from appearing as a guest star in an episode of "Hannibal" season 3 which aired in July.

"Scandal" returns with its new season Thursday, September 24 at 9 P.M. on ABC. Portia de Rossi, who recurred in season 4 as Elizabeth North, and Cornelius Smith Jr., who had a guest role in the fourth season, are promoted to series regulars for the next installment.
