Carrie Underwood has shared the official music video for her newest single "Smoke Break". The country superstar premiered on Monday, August 24 the video directed by Randee St. Nicholas, whom she previously worked with on her "Blown Away" clip, via ET Online.

In the new visuals, Underwood is seen driving her old truck through the desert before the vehicle breaks down while she's in the middle of nowhere. Meanwhile, "a small-town, hard-working woman just trying to make a living" she's singing about is portrayed by a lady who works at a local diner.

"Smoke Break" was written by the "American Idol" alum along with Hillary Lindsey and Chris DeStefano for her upcoming album "Storyteller" that's coming out on October 23.

"For the storyline, I really just wanted it to be mainly about strong women - strong beautiful women who are doing everything that the boys do," Underwood told ET Online of the single's music video. "And at the end, we all get together and have our break. Hardworking during the front-end of the video and having our break, our 'Smoke Break', at the end of the video."

Of the LP, which will serve as a follow-up to 2012's "Blown Away", the mother of one explained, "I always look for directions for an album to go in - not that every single song has to fit into one single category, but some new feel, some new look, some new sound. I want to grow as an artist and I just want every album to have its own feeling and then it all feels different and it all works together when I'm on tour."

"So with this one, with Storyteller, things ended up being more twangy but kinda this cool, edgy twang, like a rock twang," she added. "It just ended up being a new thing for me, which I'm really excited about."
