AceShowbiz - Recently, Demi Lovato's label Island Records announced during the iHeartMedia Music Summit that she would be releasing "Confident" as the next single from her upcoming album. Now, the track which will serve as a follow-up to "Cool for the Summer" has surfaced online.

The upbeat and anthemic jam was written by Lovato with the help of hitmakers like Savan Kotecha, Ilya Salmanzadeh and Max Martin. The former Disney darling gets sassy on the song as she tells everyone, "I used to hold my freak back/ Now I'm letting go/ I make my own choice/ Yeah I run this show/ So leave the lights on/ No, you can't make me behave," before asking in the chorus, "What's wrong with being confident?"

"Confident" is reportedly scheduled to impact radio starting in September. Loyal Lovatics may have known that the song was originally set to lead Lovato's new album, which has yet to have a title or release date.
