The character played by Michael Shannon will have flippers for hand reportedly because he will be transformed into monstrous Doomsday in the hero-against-hero movie.

Fans have already noticed that Michael Shannon's General Zod will make appearance in upcoming "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice". Although in the trailer Zod looks dead, his story is not quite over yet. In a recent interview with Vulture, Shannon confirmed that he would be back for the movie and his character would have a new look that involved flippers for hands.
The actor opened up about a funny story when he was being trapped in a Porta-Potty on the set of the movie. He also revealed that Zod would undergo a minor body transformation in the movie.
"I was in my costume, and I couldn't use my fingers because in the sequel I have flippers instead of hands," Shannon teased about how his character would look like in the movie. "So I had these wax flippers on my fingers, and I couldn't open the door, and I could hear Zack [Snyder] being like, 'Where's Shannon? Where the f**k is he?' And the whole crew was standing around. I was like, knocking on the door with my flippers, 'Let me out of here!' "
There is a speculation that with his flippers, Zod will end up being a monster. His transformation may be because of the experiments by Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor which will activate some sort of "Doomsday genome" and will transform Zod into the monster. The speculation makes sense after all, considering that Doomsday will be the perfect common enemy for Batman and Superman to join forces again.
"Batman v Superman" will premiere in North America in March 25, 2016. The script is written by Chris Terrio while the cast also include Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa and Amy Adams who will play Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Lois Lane respectively.
