"Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" is reportedly getting a reboot. According to a scoop from TVLine, a modernized version of the classic '90s sitcom is being developed by the original star, Will Smith, through his production company, Overbrook Entertainment.

Details of the project are still scarce but it is still in early stages. The remake is expected to put a new spin on the fish-out-of-water tale while maintaining the spirit of the original series. Smith's wife Jada Pinkett Smith is also involved as a producer in the reboot.

"Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" lasted for six seasons on NBC from 1990 to 1996. At the Television Critics Association summer press tour in Beverly Hills, NBC Chairman Robert Greenblatt said they're not involved in the project but he would "be happy to talk to Will about it."

If the "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" remake gets picked up, it will join many other TV reboots like "Fuller House", "The X-Files", and "Girl Meets World" among others.
