"The Flash" plans to surprise fans by introducing another mythology from the comic books in season 2. After introducing the singularity in the first season finale, the superhero series may show the eerily familiar place Earth 2 sooner than people thought in the sophomore season.

Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg recently told Entertainment Weekly, "We've been having a lot of fun with that and getting glimpses of Earth 2 probably sooner than people would've thought."

"The Flash" season 1 has explored the time travel and Kreisberg assured that they would make a same light and exciting approach to parallel Earths. "We're trying to do the same thing this year with Earth 2 and the concept of the multiverse and the concept of dopplegangers," he added.

"The Flash" season 2 premieres Tuesday, October 6 at 8 P.M. on The CW. Grant Gustin returns as the titular superhero, and will be joined by Keiynan Lonsdale who was recently tapped to play Barry Allen's sidekick Wally West a.k.a. Kid Flash.

Other new additions to the cast include Shantel VanSanten who will star as Patty Spivot, a new love interest for Barry Allen, as well as Michael Ironside who will play Lewis Snart, the estranged, abusive father of villains Leonard Snart/Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) and Lisa Snart/Golden Glider (Peyton List).
