Ali Larter to Return to 'Resident Evil: The Final Chapter'

The actress is set to reprise her role as Claire Redfield in the sixth installment of 'Resident Evil' movie franchise.

AceShowbiz - While the team and the cast of "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter" are busy preparing for shooting, a new update about the movie has surfaced. According to Deadline, Ali Larter has been confirmed to reprise the role of Claire Redfield for the sixth installment of "Resident Evil" movie series.

Larter first appeared as Claire in 2007's "Resident Evil: Extinction" and returned in the role for the 2010 film "Resident Evil: Afterlife". Claire is the younger sister of Chris Redfield, an American special police officer who is a protagonist of the first "Resident Evil" game.

The final installment of "Resident Evil" movie franchise centers on the story which takes place after the events of "Resident Evil: Retribution", as the Project Alice is forced to race against time before the villainous Red Queen attempts to destroy the final remnants of humanity.

After being delayed for a while, the production is slated to begin later this month in Cape Town, South Africa. Active preparation for the film has already begun in July as Milla Jovovich previously teased that she would depart on July 16, for South Africa to prepare for the production.

The 39-year-old actress joins the cast that includes Jovovich as lead protagonist Alice as well as Wentworth Miller as Chris. Robert Kulzer (Constantin Film), Jeremy Bolt (Impact Pictures), Samuel Hadida (Davis-Films) and Paul W.S. Anderson are producing with Martin Moszkowicz tapped as executive producer. Written and directed by Anderson, the horror movie is expected to be released in the U.S. in 2016.
