Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele announce that the current season of 'Key and Peele' will be the last for the Comedy Central show.

AceShowbiz - "Key & Peele" is bidding goodbye. The Comedy Central sketch show starring "Mad TV" alumni Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele is confirmed to end after the current fifth season wraps. "It's not because of Comedy Central; it's us," Key said.

"It was just time for us to explore other things, together and apart. I compare it to Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor. We might make a movie and then do our own thing for three years and then come back and do another movie," the comedian continued in a statement to TheWrap. "I'm thinking we could do that every three years - take a year, go bang out a movie. That's the plan right now."

"Key & Peele" won a Peabody Award in 2013 and received multiple Emmy nominations including Outstanding Variety Sketch Series. The fifth season premiered July 8 and is expected to complete in September. "Don't miss the last 8 episodes!" Peele tweeted. "Love u."

While the sketch show is ending soon, Key and Peele's collaboration is expected to continue as they have some projects together including comedy "Keanu" and "Police Academy" reboot.
