Demi Moore has broken her silence after a man was found dead in her swimming pool at her Beverly Crest home on early Sunday, July 19. In a statement released later on the same day, she said, "I am in absolute shock. I was out of the country traveling to meet my daughters for a birthday celebration when I got the devastating news."

Expressing her sympathy to the family of the 21-year-old man, she added, "The loss of a child is an unthinkable tragedy and my heart goes out to this young man's family and friends. I ask that you please respect the privacy of all concerned during this sensitive time."

The death reportedly occurred on Saturday night when Demi's caretaker threw a party at her house. The victim was one of the guests at the party. According to TMZ which first reported the news, the caretaker and others went out at some point leaving the victim behind and when they came back the victim was already at the bottom of the pool. Sources said the victim, who didn't know how to swim, apparently slipped and fell in the pool. His body was found on early Sunday morning.

There's no sign of foul play and police are still investigating the case.
