'Didn't plan on selling it Kuz of label problems. It's a dope album. Got a lot of great feedback and millions of streams,' T-Raww defends the low sales of the album on Twitter.

After numerous delays, Tyga's "The Gold Album: 18th Dynasty" was streamed in its entirety via Spotify on Tuesday, June 23 before hitting iTunes on the following Friday. However, it looked like not too many fans got excited over the record as it only sold around 2,200 copies in its first week, as pointed out by Complex.

The numbers are disappointing, especially because the album was executive-produced by Kanye West whose DONDA also designed the cover art. The 2,200 copies were even smaller than Troy Ave's "Major Without a Deal" which also arrived on Friday and managed to sell 4,373 copies.

Responding to the news, Tyga defended the low sales of "Gold Album" on Twitter. "Yall mfs is funny. I put my album out myself for free on spotify, soundcloud, YouTube to stream," he wrote on Wednesday, July 1. "Didn't plan on selling it Kuz of label problems. It's a dope album. Got a lot of great feedback and millions of streams."
