Kim Kardashian: Media Can Exploit Me, as Long as I Like the Photographer

'Sometimes the media exploit me but I don't care, as long as I'm happy and I like the photographer then I don't care,' the pregnant reality TV star said to the Commonwealth Club.

AceShowbiz - Speaking at the prestigious Commonwealth Club in San Francisco on Tuesday, June 30, Kim Kardashian talked about the objectification of women by the media as well as her famous family. While she agreed to an opinion that the media objectify women, the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star said that she held the power by objectifying herself.

"I think it's a matter of opinion," Kim said. "Sometimes the media exploit me but I don't care, as long as I'm happy and I like the photographer then I don't care." The reality TV star's answer was apparently predictable given that she gained her fame and success in her career with the help of the media. Regarding her opinion about paparazzi, she said, "Annoying, but you know what - I'm still a realistic person. Without them, people wouldn't have taken much notice of me so I give credit where it's due."

While talking about her family, Kim opened up about her experience of a racist abuse when she was on a plane with her daughter North West. "I did have an awful experience on a plane once, she was slurring racial things at me. North was less than one so she didn't know," she said. "I was about to go over and say something, then an Indian man stopped me and said, 'it just isn't worth it.' "

"So I have experienced it, but Kanye and I together are so open. He is vocal about race, so I think we'll be really helpful for our children," the 34-year-old reality TV star told the audience about how she and her husband Kanye West would protect their children against racism. "We will talk to our children the way our dad spoke to us. He had lots of friends in biracial relationships and I think he knew I would be in an interracial relationship. He would tell me story after story."

During the talk, the author of "Selfish" also opened up about what she loves most about her husband. "I love the way he creates, thinks, stands up for what he believes in whole-heartedly. He is such a good person," she revealed. "I have gotten a lot of my confidence from him, I used to care so much about what people thought of me. He has taught me to not care, he is such an honest person." Regarding what she gave to him in return, she said, "I give him advice on what to wear."
