The 'Gangster Squad' star reportedly treated the 'Almost Human' actress to an extravagant dinner date with some friends to celebrate her 35th birthday at The French Laundry last June 23.

AceShowbiz - Sean Penn apparently has found new love less than two weeks after splitting from Charlize Theron. Last Tuesday, June 23, the Oscar-winning actor was spotted having extravagant dinner with Minka Kelly in Napa, California to celebrate the actress' 35th birthday.
Several onlookers told TMZ that they accidentally heard Sean said he and Minka first met at a charity event in Haiti. During the pricey dinner at Thomas Keller's elite eatery The French Laundry, the couple was joined by three friends, the sources added.
Still according to the news outlet, the entourage had a feast with a chicken with the feet still attached, truffle mac and cheese and a birthday cake. Before Minka blew the birthday candle, people at her table along with others in the restaurant sang her "Happy Birthday" song.
Another insider told Us Weekly that Sean, who jetted off to Napa on the night of the day, and Minka were seen very close. "That was their first date, but it was a group setting," the insider said. "It was more of a 'let's see how this goes.' "
"Minka and Sean got along great and had a great time, but it's unclear where it's going," the insider added.
Following the dinner, Minka took to Instagram to share a snap taken at her birthday dinner. "Birthday festivities off to a pretty magical start," Minka captioned the snap of her blowing the birthday candle.
Sean and Charlize called off their engagement in late June after nearly a year and a half together. A source said at that time that Charlize "just cut it off" and refused to respond to his calls and texts.
