'Spider-Man' Reboot to Introduce New Villains
Movie

Marvel Studio President, Kevin Feige, hinted that the upcoming 'Spider-Man' movie would include all-new villains which fans had never seen before.

AceShowbiz - For more than a decade, fans have seen a series of villains which "Spider-Man" fought against on the big screen, including Doctor Octopus, Sandman, Venom, The Lizard, Electro, Rhino and even multiple versions of the Green Goblin. However, fans may not see those baddies again in the upcoming untitled new Spider-Man movie as Marvel Studio President Kevin Feige hinted that the studio would introduce new villains in the movie.

Speaking with Birth Movies Death at the "Ant-Man" press junket, Feige explained that the studio was making innovations with the antagonists in order to differentiate the upcoming movie with previous "Spider-Man" movies that had already existed. "Right now we're interested in seeing villains we haven't seen before," he said of the upcoming reboot.

Besides, fans may wonder if the Tom Holland starrer will include emotional scenes between Peter Parker and his Aunt or other characters just like in the previous movies or not. In the interview, Feige teased Parker's soap opera side while referencing John Hughes as his biggest influence. "It's the soap opera in high school, and those supporting characters, that are interesting," said Feige.

"Just as we hadn't seen a heist movie in a long time, or a shrinking movie in a long time, we haven't seen a John Hughes movie in a long time. Not that we can make a John Hughes movie - only John Hughes could - but we're inspired by him, and merging that with the superhero genre in a way we haven't done before excites us," he added.

Feige believed that "Spider-Man" had several differences, or maybe strengths, compared to other Marvel movies. "Stakes don't need to be end of the world," Feige said of the movie. He also indicated that Spider-Man didn't have to be part of the larger Marvel Universe in order to "work."
