"Kick-Ass" director Matthew Vaughn revealed a plan to make a "Kick-Ass" prequel which would center on Hit Girl. He said that the prequel would focus on the origin story of Hit Girl and Big Daddy.

Vaughn explained his plan during Yahoo Movies press event for "Kingsman: The Secret Service" DVD release. "We're working on an idea for a prequel of how did Hit Girl and Big Daddy become Hit Girl and Big Daddy," Vaughn said .

Despite the fact that "Kick-Ass 2" wasn't too well received, Vaugh hoped that the prequel could resurrect the interest of the viewers to the movie. He also noted that it could open an opportunity to make "Kick-Ass 3". "If we make that, hopefully that will be the sorbet for the people that didn't like 'Kick-Ass 2' and then we can go off and make 'Kick-Ass 3'," he said. He added, "I think we've got to do this prequel to regain the love that we had with 'Kick-Ass'."

Meanwhile, Mark Millar, the writer of the first and second installment of "Kick-Ass", was less optimistic about those movies. He said in an interview, "There's really nothing happening here in any official way. Matthew is talking about an idea we had for Hit-Girl but it's just been a few informal chats and we haven't discussed 'Kick-Ass 3' at all."

He continued, "We're getting Superior together at the moment and Matthew is putting some 'Kingsman' sequel ideas together but 'Hit-Girl' and 'Kick-Ass' are not on our radar I'm afraid."
