The original voice actors Catherine Cavadini, Tara Strong and Elizabeth Daily feel 'hurt' that they were not asked back for the new Cartoon Network series.

AceShowbiz - Cartoon Network has introduced the new cast of "The Powerpuff Girls" reboot. Via a picture posted on the show's official Facebook page, it's announced that Amanda Leighton would voice Blossom, Kristen Li would voice Bubbles, and Natalie Palamides would provide the voice of Buttercup.

The photo also reveals the first look at the revamped Powerpuff Girls. They still sport the same wide eyes and signature hairstyles as the ones they rocked on the original show that ran from 1998-2005. However, they now have thinner outlines and appear to be a bit rounder.

Soon after the new voice cast announced, the original stars of the animated series took to Twitter to express their disappointment that they're not involved in the new series. Tara Strong who voiced Bubbles wrote, "I don't remember ordering a stab in the heart today," and added later, "I have NO ILL FEELINGS 4 the actresses in the new #ppg, We were just beyond hurt we were NEVER asked..every role I breathe life into I love."

Cathy Cavadini (Blossom) tweeted, "I wish the new girls well but Wow! does this hurt my heart:(" Elizabeth Daily (Buttercup) echoed her former co-stars' sentiment as writing, "Owie! Rt in the kisser ! Hurts Xxeg" along with a crying emoji.

"The Powerpuff Girls" centers on three super-powered girls Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup as well as their "father", the brainy scientist Professor Utonium who live in the fictional city of Townsville. The new series will debut in 2016.
