The first official trailer of revenge drama "Lila & Eve" has been debuted. The film centers on the titular character, Lila, played by Viola Davis, who wants to take revenge for the murder of her son.
Lila, a grief-stricken mother in the aftermath of her son's murder, attends a support group which the members are all women. "We're mothers and when the worst happens, we feel we failed. Get out, get a hobby, so we can get on to living," someone says in voiceover, giving motivations to the group members. Joining the group, Lila meets Eve (Jennifer Lopez) who also lost her daughter.
Lila struggles to find the murderers of his son. "I just want justice for the one who took my son," she says. When Lila encounters several challenges from the police in bringing justice for her son's slaying, Eve urges Lila to track down her son's killers on her own. The two women soon embark on a violent pursuit of justice.
Davis and Lopez are joined by the likes of Shea Whigham, Aml Ameen, Yolonda Ross, Whitney Goin, Julius Tennon, Ron Caldwell, Diarra Kilpatrick, Chris Chalk and Andre Royo in the cast. Sara Risher produces the movie alongside Darrin Reed and Julius Tennon while Charles Stone III serves as director. "Lila & Eve" is slated for a limited release in the U.S. on July 17.
