'Alas, the sheer awesomeness of such a union in such a place would blow your tiny bigoted minds out of your thick sloping skulls,' the 'Harry Potter' author blasted the church on Twitter.

AceShowbiz - J.K. Rowling just delivered a marvelous smackdown to Westboro Baptist church. The "Harry Potter" author ripped the church over their reaction to Ireland's same-sex marriage in one outstanding tweet on Tuesday, May 26.

The church wrote a hateful message to Rowling after she shared a celebratory tweet over the weekend. Being classy, the author slammed the church, tweeting, "@WBCsigns Alas, the sheer awesomeness of such a union in such a place would blow your tiny bigoted minds out of your thick sloping skulls."

The feud began when Rowling took to Twitter last Friday to celebrate news that Ireland became the first country in the world to legalize same-sex marriage. "Sitting here watching the Irish make history," so she wrote. "Extraordinary and wonderful."

Fans later commented on her tweet and some even wrote that they wondered if Rowling's fictional character Professor Dumbledore, whom Rowling has confirmed is a gay, and other wizards would be welcomed in Ireland.

Responding to her fans' comments, Rowling then posted a meme about Dumbledore and Gandalf from "Lord of the Rings" getting married in a snap of Keanu Reeves along with a message, "What if Dumbledore and Gandalf were gay together." She captioned it, "Then they could get married IN IRELAND!"

Days after Rowling posted the illustration, the church, which is known for its offensive speech against gays, criticized her on Tuesday, tweeting, "So @jkrowling wants Dumbledore & Gandalf to marry in Ireland; if it happens WBC will picket!" They added some images of a little girl holding a poster that read "God H8S F** marriage" and "God Hates Ireland" image.
