Movie

The comedy movie is getting a sequel with the three leading stars expected to reprise their roles as the three stooges.

C3 Entertainment announced through their website that there would be a sequel to "The Three Stooges". It is such a big surprise as the 2012 comedy was not really much loved.

" 'The Three Stooges' are returning to the big screen in a new action-comedy feature film. Sean Hayes (Larry), Chris Diamantopoulos (Moe) and Will Sasso (Curly), will reprise their roles as The Three Stooges," C3 said in a post on their website on Friday, May 8.

The new film may be a little bit different from the previous one because it will be an action-comedy, rather than a straightforward comedy. Cameron Fay who scripted "Brothers in Law" has been hired to write the script of "The Three Stooges 2". While Hayes, Diamantopoulos and Sasso will reprise their roles, it is not clear if other cast members such as Sofia Vergara, Larry David and Kate Upton will also return to the sequel.

"We're excited to be moving forward with The Exchange and Grand Peaks on the next 'Three Stooges' movie," C3 Entertainment CEO Earl Benjamin said. "With Sean, Chris and Will back as our Stooges and Cameron writing, this next film will be a truly unique blend of fast paced action with the hilarious mayhem of The Three Stooges."

The 2012 film was adapted from the 20th century comedy franchise and was directed by the Farrelly Brothers, known for "Dumb and Dumber". Their movie "The Three Stooges" received mixed reviews from critics and grossed more than $54 million worldwide.
