Ryan Reynolds took to Twitter to share a photo of his Marvel character, Deadpool, to celebrate Mother's Day on Sunday, May 10. The photo looks both weird and funny as it features Deadpool giving a thumbs-up and holding a baby with one of his hands beside a woman's bare leg.

Reynolds captioned the picture, "#Deadpool: A motherf**ker since 1991." This is not the first time Reynolds has shared a lighthearted picture of Deadpool. He previously posted a photo of Deadpool in full costume lounging on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. It was meant to duplicate the look of an iconic Cosmopolitan photo of Burt Reynolds who was completely naked.

Deadpool was introduced in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" and it was followed with a plan to produce a spin-off which would focus on Deadpool. In 2014, test footage from Reynolds which he filmed in 2012 leaked online. By the time it was leaked, there were plenty of positive responses to the proposed film. It later became a catalyst for Fox's decision to move forward with the film.

"Deadpool" is currently in production and will open in U.S. theaters on February 12, 2016. The film is directed by Tim Miller from a script by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Reynolds leads the cast which includes Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, Gina Carano, and T.J. Miller.
