AceShowbiz - NBC's series pick-up list is growing with the addition of two more dramas and three comedies. They include "The Player" starring Philip Winchester and Wesley Snipes which hails from the team behind hit series "The Blacklist".

The Las Vegas-set action thriller follows a former military operative-turned-security expert who is drawn into a high-stakes game where an organization of wealthy individuals gamble on his ability to stop some of the biggest crimes imaginable from playing out. His goal is to take them down to get revenge for the death of his wife. The pilot was a standout at NBC.

The other recently ordered drama series is "Game of Silence". The story centers on a successful Atlanta attorney (David Lyons) whose long-lost childhood friends unexpectedly reappear after 25 years. When a dark secret they thought they had buried resurfaces, the brotherhood bands together to right the wrongs of their shared past, a journey that will push the limits of their loyalty and quench their thirst for revenge.

Despite featuring dark overtones, the show was among favorites throughout pilot season. David Hudgins, Carol Mendelsohn, Julie Weitz and director Niels Arden Oplev are executive producing it.

In the comedy section, there is "Superstore" toplined by America Ferrera and Ben Feldman. The workplace comedy focuses on "a unique family of employees at a super-sized megastore," who "hilariously tackle the day-to-day grind of rabid bargain hunters, riot-causing sales and nap-worthy training sessions."

"Crowded" is a multicamera series about an empty-nester couple who are starting to reclaim their wild side when their two daughters unexpectedly move back in. Starring Patrick Warbuton, Carrie Preston, Miranda Cosgrove and Mia Serafino, it is executive produced by Sean Hayes.

Mark-Paul Gosselaar's "People Are Talking" is another comedy which has received series order. It revolves around "two diverse couples who are both neighbors and best friends. As they go through life side-by-side, they can't help but analyze and obsess about everything." Gosselaar is joined in the cast by Meaghan Rath, Tone Bell and Bresha Webb.

NBC has also renewed medical drama "The Night Shift" for season 3, "Undateable" for a third season and "The Mysteries of Laura" for season 2. Meanwhile, "State of Affairs", "About a Boy", "Marry Me" and "One Big Happy" won't return for a new season. They join "Constantine" which has been earlier canceled by the network.
