Natalie Portman to Play Supreme Court Justice in Ruth Bader Ginsburg Biopic
Movie

The 'No Strings Attached' actress will portray Ruth Bader Ginsburg, a Supreme Court Justice, in the biopic 'On the Basis of Sex' that will start filming by the end of the year.

AceShowbiz - Natalie Portman is set to play a Supreme Court Justice, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, in a biopic entitled "On the Basis of Sex". According to Deadline, the film will follow "the travails of Ginsburg as she faced numerous obstacles to her fight for equal rights throughout her career."

In her personal life, the "Black Swan" actress admitted that she also supported women's right and some other political issues. It might be a good thing to help her get deeper in the character she will play. Another similarity between Portman and Ginsburg is that they are both Jewish.

When Ginsburg was 60, she was appointed by the former president, Bill Clinton, to be the second female Supreme Court Justice and the first Jewish female on the Supreme Court.

Though so, the biopic will not tell the story about Ginsburg whom people are familiar with today, but it will focus on Ginburg's career before she was appointed to the Supreme Court, which included arguing several cases at the Supreme Court on behalf of the A.C.L.U.

While other cast members who will join the film have not been unveiled, Marielle Heller ("The Diary of a Teenage Girl") is in negotiations to direct the movie. Daniel Stiepleman writes the script while Robert W. Cort is producing with Ram Bergman as executive producer. The movie is targeted to start the production by the end of the year.
