The 'Fantastic Four' director earns a bad reputation for being indecisive and uncommunicative while filming 'F4' remake.

AceShowbiz - Details behind Josh Trank's departure from the untitled stand-alone Star Wars film II are unearthed. The producer reportedly lost confidence in the "Chronicle" director and fired him after they heard he was difficult to work with in "The Fantastic Four".

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Trank was "erratic" and sometimes "very isolated" during the making of "F4" remake. He had no clear direction, an insider added, "If you've got someone who can't answer questions or who isn't sure or is in hiding, that's not good." Due to those issues, producers Simon Kinberg and Hutch Parker allegedly had to step in to "pull the film together."

"No question there's talent there. You can't do Chronicle by accident," a source said, but Trank was "like one of these kids who comes to the NBA with all the talent and none of the character-based skills to handle it. There's equipment he doesn't yet have."

Trank hasn't commented on the rumor, but he cited desire to "pursue some original creative opportunities" when announcing his exit from "Star Wars" project. He was previously a no-show during a fan-centric event in Anaheim last month.
