Daniel Bruhl Confirms He'll Play Baron Zemo in 'Captain America: Civil War'

The 'Rush' actor will bring the classic villain, Baron Helmut Zemo, to the big screen for the 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' sequel.

AceShowbiz - Daniel Bruhl officially reveals his role in "Captain America: Civil War". He spills to The Independent that he will play Baron Helmut Zemo who is depicted as a Nazi scientist and weapon expert in the comics. "I think I can tell you that without being thrown into Marvel prison ... ," he jokes.

The 36-year-old actor who shared screen with Marvel star Chris Hemsworth in 2013's "Rush" adds, "For the first few days I'll walk around like a little boy, just amazed by the megalomania of it. It's such a huge project. We could do 20 films with the budget."

His villainous character is rumored to have a smaller role in the upcoming third "Captain America" movie before later returning to take the role of a primary antagonist in a Doctor Strange stand-alone movie starring Benedict Cumberbatch.

"Civil War" will arrive Stateside on May 6, 2016. Anthony and Joe Russo return as directors, Chris Evans as the titular hero, Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch, Frank Grillo as Crossbones, and Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther. They will also be joined by a new Spider-Man.
