Baring her toned midriff on the cover of Shape Magazine's May 2015 issue, Hilary Duff addressed some personal issues, one most significant was diet, insisting she would not go on actual diet. "There's so much pressure to always have it together, and I'm not falling for it," she said of living a life under the spotlight that usually demanded her to look perfect all the time. "You see supermodels who have babies, and the next week they look as if they were never pregnant. That was not the case with me. Some days I feel great, others I feel pretty normal, and that's acceptable," she explained.

And instead of going on actual diet, the actress-singer and mother of one opted to have what she dubbed "real-life exercise." "Carrying my son, for one," she explained of her workout routine. "He weighs 35 pounds. The other day we went to Disneyland and he fell asleep in my arms, and I had to carry him back to my car, which was a 30-minute walk. I was dying."

Revealing further about her daily exercise, Hilary told the publication, "I do this thing with a sledge-hammer where I swing it and hit a rubber block, and it get out all of my aggressions. Everyone is like, 'Uh-oh, Hilary's got the hammer - get out of the way!'" Additionally, she opened up about her one no-fail weight-loss strategy, which was ditching the drinks. "I love my wine, but when I'm really trying to lose weight, that's got to go. Alcohol is a trigger to make bad choices, just like when I get too hungry," she claimed.

Though so, there was one thing that was impossible for Hilary to avoid, cheese. "It's a real problem. I can't say no to it! There's a cheese shop in Beverly Hills, and my car is like a magnet to it," she admitted, adding that cheese is the "key to a happy life."

The May 2015 issue of Shape Magazine will be hitting the newsstands next Tuesday, April 28. Hilary shared a snap of its cover on her Instagram and captioned it with "Love @shape_magazine and was so honored to be on the cover! It's the May issue! Go pick it up this Tuesday!"
