'The Walking Dead' Spin-Off Title Announced

The companion series to AMC's hit show is called 'Fear the Walking Dead,' so Robert Kirkman reveals on his Twitter.

AceShowbiz - "The Walking Dead" upcoming companion series has got an official title. Robert Kirkman, whose comics were turned into the AMC hit series, revealed on his Twitter that the spin-off series would be called "Fear the Walking Dead".

"IT'S OFFICIAL! The walking dead companion show on AMC is called FEAR THE WALKING DEAD! Expect more news very soon! #FearTheWalkingDead," so he tweeted on Friday, March 27, teasing that more details are coming soon.

Bruce Tuchman, president of AMC and Sundance Channel Global, also released a statement to announce the new show's title. "We're thrilled to bring audiences worldwide 'Fear the Walking Dead' within 24 hours of the U.S. premiere so that fans can experience the excitement of one of the year's most anticipated new dramas together exclusively on AMC Global," he said. "AMC has created some of the most compelling programming on television in recent years, and this new show will perfectly complement the popular films and exclusive original series showcased on the network."

"Fear the Walking Dead" is set in Los Angeles and has Cliff Curtis, Kim Dickens, Frank Dillane and Alycia Debnam Carey as series regulars. It will see "what was going on in other parts of the zombie apocalypse, and what it looked like as the world really did 'turn.' "

Kirkman and Dave Erickson co-created and co-wrote the pilot. Erickson will also serve as showrunner, while Kirkman is executive producing the new series along with Gale Anne Hurd, Greg Nicotero and David Alpert. Adam Davidson is tapped to direct the pilot.
