Kanye West has canceled his appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!". The rapper was supposed to be a guest on the show, which is filming in Austin, Texas, for SXSW this week, on Friday night, March 20, but his a no-show.

His rep explained, "He was never confirmed to be on the show. We took extraordinary steps and worked directly with the show to try to make it happen. Logistics were insurmountable. We have a great and longstanding relationship with the show and we will be back on soon."

Jimmy Kimmel didn't seem to be upset when announcing West's absence though. "Willie Nelson will be here in studio with us. Kanye West was supposed to be here, too but he canceled - or maybe he's planning to jump on stage unexpectedly to interrupt Willie," he jokingly told his audience. "So if you do not like Kanye West, make sure to tune in Friday night to not see him."

A rep for the ABC talk show also said, "We look forward to having Kanye West back on the show."

Kimmel previously said he would like to have West read mean tweets for his show's signature segment. "I wonder if we've ever asked him," he said earlier this week. "We'll definitely ask him." He added, "Maybe we'll run it by Kim [Kardashian] first. She seems more relaxed with that sort of thing."
