Milioti, who also starred on the short-lived sitcom 'A to Z', will portray Lou Solverson's wife on the FX series.

AceShowbiz - Cristin Milioti has landed a new TV gig after her "A to Z" was canceled by NBC after a 13-episode first season. The titular mother depicter on "How I Met Your Mother" has landed a recurring role in upcoming season 2 of FX's "Fargo".

The Tony Award-nominated actress will portray Betsy, the wife of Lou Solverson (Patrick Wilson) and the daughter of Rock County Sheriff Hank Larsson (Ted Danson). She is described as "a woman of the plains - pretty but firm," who "can both jump start a car and make a casserole, clean a gun as well as the gutters."

The new installment of the critically acclaimed anthology series is set against "the cultural transformation that was going on" in the late 1970s as well as Reagan's first campaign for President of the United States.

It follows young Lou (played by Keith Carradine in the first season), a clean-cut Minnesota State Patrolman, four years after he's back from Vietnam, where he served in the Navy. He investigates a case involving a local crime gang and a major Mob syndicate.

Filming began in January in Calgary for a fall premiere. Jean Smart, Nick Offerman, Jeffrey Donovan, Brad Garrett and Kieran Culkin also join the cast.
