Apparently, there was a divide between who wanted Kaitlyn or Britt as the new Bachelorette and the producers "decided not to decide," Chris H. explained. Kaitlyn, 29, is a dance instructor from Alberta, Canada, while Britt, 27, is a waitress from California. Britt commented, "I mean, I'm super grateful, I think it's an amazing opportunity, its' more than I can comprehend, I'm still having trouble processing it, but I love Kaitlyn, so we'll see how it goes."
Kaitlyn jokingly added, "I think we discussed that we'll end up in the same hottub at some point." Britt was hopeful about finding her true love despite having a "painful" moment on "The Bachelor", but the straightforward Kaitlyn said, "Oh no, it will be harder."
A source told Us Weekly that Kaitlyn and Britt were "not necessarily thrilled about this, but they're also not horrified or upset." The insider added, "Clearly they both wanted to be the next Bachelorette, so they're happy with sharing the role rather than not having it at all."
The new season of "The Bachelorette" will premiere Monday, May 18, while "Bachelor in Paradise" will return with its second season later in the summer.
