Grappling with the diminishing powers of his mind, Holmes comes to rely upon the boy as he revisits an unsolved case which forced him into retirement, and searches for answers to the mysteries of life and love - before it's too late.

Due in the U.K. on June 19, the film is based on Mitch Cullen's novel "Slight Trick of the Mind" that puts a twist on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's fictional sleuth. It reunites McKellen with "Gods & Monsters" director Bill Condon.
