The Hilton hotel heir may avoid jail time after entering guilty plea in the assault case stemming from his mid-flight temper tantrum.

Conrad Hilton has struck a deal with prosecutors in the assault case stemming from his mid-flight outburst in July last year. The 20-year-old hotel heir has agreed to plead guilty to assaulting flight attendants during a trip from London to Los Angeles.

Conrad signed the agreement on Tuesday, March 3. He is due to appear in court on Thursday, but will officially enter the plea later. He is facing up to six months in jail, a year of probation, and a $5,000 fine, but under the deal prosecutors will only ask for probation.

The younger brother of Paris Hilton was arrested last summer after threatening to kill the crew of British Airways. His temper tantrum allegedly began when he was asked to keep his seat belt fastened when he began pacing the aisle as the aircraft ascended.

"I could get you all fired in five minutes. I know your boss," he ranted. "My father will pay this out, he has done it before. Dad paid $300K last time." He called the other passengers "peasants" and punched the bulkhead of the plane inches from a flight attendant's face.

Conrad voluntarily checked into a 30-day inpatient drug and alcohol treatment program last month. His lawyer previously claimed his disruptive behavior was "the effects of a sleeping pill."
