Rosamund Pike in Talks to Star in 'The Deep Blue Good-by'

The 36-year-old movie beauty is in negotiations to star in the film that has had Christian Bale playing the male lead.

AceShowbiz - Nearly three months after giving birth to her second child, Rosamund Pike is gearing up to score another movie role and she is in talks to star in the upcoming "The Deep Blue Good-by". Should a deal is reached, she would be sharing screen with fellow actor Christian Bale. No words though on the possible character she would be portraying.

"The Deep Blue Good-by" is a big screen adaptation of the first of 21 novels by John D. MacDonald. Bale, as reported by Variety, is on board playing the male lead Travis McGee. His character has been described as a "salvage consultant who recovers others' property for a fee and along the way gets into trouble fighting bad guys and wooing women."

The film's script was penned by Dennis Lehane, with Scott Frank working on the most recent draft. On board directing will be James Mangold, with Chernin Entertainment, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Jennifer Davisson-Killoran producing for Appian Way along with Amy Robinson. Shooting and release dates haven't been disclosed just yet.
