After initially being denied, the rumored dispute between "Fifty Shades of Grey" helmer Sam Taylor-Johnson and author E.L. James is now confirmed. The director admits that they didn't see eye to eye on some issues.

"It was difficult, I'm not going to lie," the director opened up in a new interview with Porter magazine ahead of the movie's release on February 13. "We definitely fought but they were creative fights and we would resolve them."

"We would have proper on-set barneys, and I'm not confrontational, but it was about finding a way between the two of us, satisfying her vision of what she'd written as well as my need to visualize this person on screen but, you know, we got there."

Although claiming that they had resolved their differences, Taylor-Johnson sounded unsure when asked if she was friends with James now. "Ummmm," she said before thanking her interviewer for not pressing the question.

The director also addressed chatters on her supposed rivalry with Angelina Jolie who initially pursued the project. "I got an email out of the blue from her saying good luck on your journey," Taylor-Johnson dished on. "I thought that was incredibly sweet of her."
