While fans enjoyed watching Scott Foley running in nothing but boxers in the opening scene of "Scandal" midseason premiere, in real life the actor suffered an injury during the filming. He hurt his ankle while running down the stairs.
Foley's wife Marika Dominczyk shared on Twitter a picture of her husband wearing a cast on his foot and captioned it, "Btw- aftermath of running with no shoes. On the street. #Scandal @scottkfoley #dasboot #foleyfangirls." He reportedly continued the filming despite his twisted ankle.

Series creator Shonda Rhimes said that Foley enjoyed filming the shirtless scene. "Fun fact: @scottkfoley was less than thrilled but very game about running around outside in his undies. After I'd made him dance. #Scandal," she tweeted. Co-star Bellamy Young also tweeted, "Sweet @scottkfoley running down #Wilshire in his undies at rush hour #Commitment."
"Scandal" airs Thursdays at 9 P.M. on ABC.
