Emma Watson keeps herself busy with new projects. On Monday, January 26, the "Harry Potter" alum confirmed in a Facebook post that she would play Belle in live-action musical "Beauty and the Beast (2017)" from Disney. She is expected to show off her singing skills in the movie and is prepared for it.

"I'm finally able to tell you... that I will be playing Belle in Disney's new live-action Beauty and the Beast!" she said in the post. "It almost feels surreal that I'll get to dance to 'Be Our Guest' and sing 'Something There'," she continued, before adding, "Time to start some singing lessons."

Disney said in a statement that the production for the adaptation would start later this year. Bill Condon ("Dreamgirls", "The Twilight Saga's Breaking Dawn Part I,") serves behind the lens.

Back in 1991, Disney released an animated musical "Beauty and the Beast" which later was adapted for Broadway. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly last year, Condon shared that the upcoming project would feature songs and scores from the original movie.

In other news, Watson's current project "Colonia" finished the principal photography earlier this month. Also starring Daniel Bruhl, the Florian Gallenberger-directed movie which centers on a couple during the Chilean military coup of 1973 is set for release in October.
