"Transparent" was created and directed by Emmy-nominated writer Jill Soloway. It centers on Jeffrey Tambor's character, a retired professor of political science who finally opens up to her family about always identifying as a woman.

The actor won Best Actor in a Television Series - Musical or Comedy award at the recent Gloden Globes for his portrayal of a transgender father, while the show was dubbed Best Television Series - Musical or Comedy at the same event.
