A new photo obtained by KTLA shows Greg Plitt standing near the tracks of the Burbank Metrolink Station in California moments before he was struck and killed by train on Saturday, January 17. On Monday, police confirmed to the Associated Press that the fitness model was being filmed by two other men when he was hit by the train.
Burbank Police Sgt. Scott Meadows told the site that investigators were trying to figure out who directed Greg and the two men to film in a restricted area of the tracks. Scott added that the investigators interviewed witnesses who saw the fitness model standing on the track even though the train's horn was blaring.
Law enforcement sources told TMZ that Greg "was shooting a commercial for a new sports drink" before the tragic accident happened. Sources close to the fitness expert said, "[Greg] had worked out near the tracks many times before - but this shoot turned tragic when he tripped and fell on the tracks ... and couldn't recover in time to get out of the way."
The sources claimed that Greg "was a highly driven adrenaline junkie" which caused him to stand on the same track of the speeding train.
The coroner told the site that Greg's cause of death is "multiple blunt force trauma."
