"The Walking Dead" has added an actor to its cast ensemble for the second half of season 5. Relative newcomer Ross Marquand will join the show as a series regular and will be introduced at some point during the last eight episodes.
His role is not revealed yet, but there has been a speculation on character that he could play. Marquand, who voiced Han Solo in an episode of "Phineas and Ferb", may portray Aaron, a resident of the Alexandria Safe-Zone. In the comic, Aaron crosses path with Rick and the group while they are on the way to Washington, D.C., and invites them to join his community.
Aaron has a boyfriend named Eric. After "Walking Dead" creator Robert Kirkman said last November that "a very prominent gay character from the comics" would be debuting in the second half of season 5, many believe that he was referring to Aaron.
Marquand made his breakout performance in "A Lonely Place for Dying" which also stars Academy Award-nominee James Cromwell and Michael Wincott. The actor from Denver, Colorado has also appeared on AMC's "Mad Men" and 2011's movie "The Congregation".
"The Walking Dead" returns with the remainder of the fifth season Sunday, February 8 at 9 P.M. on AMC. A new trailer was recently released to tide fans over the show's return.
