Vanessa Carlton has given birth to her first child with her husband John McCauley. John took to Instagram on Tuesday, January 13 to announce the happy news to his followers. He posted a photo of him wearing hospital robe and masker, holding his newborn baby. "Sid the Kid, whoa!!!" he captioned it.
John's label Partisan Records congratulated the couple on Twitter and revealed the gender of the baby. "There's a new mama and papa on the block! Huge congrats to John McCauley and Vanessa Carlton on their baby girl!!! Welcome to the family!" the label tweeted.
Vanessa later took to Twitter to thank her fans for their well wishes. "Thanks for all the sweet wishes on our daughter," she wrote, "She's the quiet observer. We are in for it."
On January 9, the 34-year-old songstress hinted that she was about to give birth. "10 months pregnant & honestly dreaming of the moment I can start this cause I'm officially waddling. @TracyAnderson," she tweeted along with a photo of Tracy Anderson's workout DVD.
Vanessa announced her pregnancy back in June, posting a photo of her baby bump on Facebook along with caption, "I can now reveal the reason as to why 'Liberman' will not be released until next summer. See the picture below. No, those aren't a bunch of croissants. We're expecting a baby. It's healthy and moving around like a champ."
