The female anchor who tearfully departed 'Today' show in 2012 has reportedly negotiated her departure from NBC News.

AceShowbiz - %cAnn Curry% packs her bag, ready to leave NBC News after working in the company for more than two decades, multiple outlets report. The former "Today" host will reportedly leave the network for good after weeks of negotiations to end her contract, which is reportedly worth up to $12 million a year.

Curry joined NBC News in 1990 and served as a news anchor on "Today" from 1997 to 2011. She was then promoted as a co-anchor, but the show's struggle with ratings forced her to tearfully leave a year later. She has since done special reports for the network.

Her exit from "Today", however, didn't help the show reclaim their glory as the top-rank morning show. Instead, it gave the network a bad rep as they were accused of clumsily handling the situation. It also earned co-host %cMatt Lauer% and her replacement, %cSavannah Guthrie%, backlash from fans.

Rumor has it, Curry plans to follow the footsteps of %cSoledad O'Brien%, the former CNN anchor who set up her own production company and has since created and sold documentaries to television outlets like HBO, Al Jazeera, and CNN.
