There's still three months before "Outlander" returns, but a sneak peek at what's coming ahead has emerged. Starz debuted a trailer for the second half of the show's first season at the TCA's press tour on Friday, January 9 and it's now available online.

The video sees Jamie and Claire reunited, but their love story is far from happy ending. Instead, danger is lurking ahead as their relationship deepens. They are seen passionately making love, while another scene shows Jamie being whipped with his hands tied.

Glimpses of Jamie having a duel and an explosive battle are also featured, while Geillis begins to question Claire's story. Jamie's sister Jenny tells Claire, "Love forces a person to choose. You do things you never imagined you could do before. There's no room for sentiment," but Claire refuses to give up on Jamie.

At the TCA, Sam Heughan who plays Jamie said in the second part of the season, "You discover a lot more about Jamie; he's finding his place in the world, he's got new responsibilities, he's got relationships he'd rather not deal with... we start to see his stubborn side, his pride; we start to see his failings, the chinks in the armor."

Fans can also look forward to a scene described in the first book, where Claire is spanked by husband Jamie. Lead actress Caitriona Balfe explained, "You have to look at it in the mind-frame of 1743. We wanted to not take it lightly. We choreographed it quite well. When it came to the day, we just tried to give it the respect it deserved. For Claire, she finds it difficult to believe, this man she's in love with, what he's about to do."

Praising the prosthetic he wears to portray Jamie's scarred back, Heughan revealed his character would be injured a lot more in the final eight episodes.

"Outlander" will return with the remaining of its first season Saturday, April 4 at 9 P.M. on Starz. The show has been ordered for a second season, which will begin filming in May in Scotland.
