According to emails leaked following cyber attack at Sony Pictures, the company's execs were discussing the possibility of Emily Blunt playing Scorpia and Tom Hardy as Sandman.

Another cast wishlist has emerged online following massive hack targeting Sony Pictures Entertainment. This time, the scoop is for "The Sinister Six". According to a Sunday, December 21 report by Val Broeksmit of Bikini Robot Army (via Comic Book Movie), Channing Tatum who has been cast as Gambit in an "X-Men" spin-off apparently was interested in playing Venom.
Director Drew Goddard reportedly mentioned he wanted Tom Hardy as Sandman in one email. Goddard also liked the idea of Emily Blunt taking the role of Scorpia. Sony's co-chairman Amy Pascal, meanwhile, wanted Emilia Clarke or Elizabeth Olsen for the role, but the latter is less likely because she's playing Scarlet Witch in the upcoming "Avengers: Age of Ultron".
Sean Penn, Denzel Washington, George Clooney and Daniel Craig were among names discussed in the exchanges. Penn specifically was mentioned for Doctor Octopus alongside Woody Harrelson. Additionally, the character of The Vulture was considered for Colin Firth. Danny McBride, Jonah Hill, Chris O'Dowd, Michael Pena, Joel Edgerton, Jason Clarke, Sharlto Copley and some more names were also mentioned.
"Sinister Six" tells the story of a group of super villains from Spidey universe. Directed by Goddard, it is planned for November 11, 2016 release.
