"The Sing-Off" was back for one night only on Wednesday, December 17 on NBC. In the two-hour special, six groups were vying for the top prize and at the end of the night one of them was named a winner.
Three groups were eliminated after the first round, leaving The Exchange, The Melodores and Traces in the competition. Performing last in the second round, The Melodores wowed the judges with their cover of Hozier's "Take Me to Church".
The all-male group from Vanderbilt was eventually declared the winner, making them the first college group to ever take the crown at the reality show.
The two-hour episode also featured performances from former contestants Pentatonix and Home Free. Nick Lachey returned as the host with Jewel Kilcher, Shawn Stockman and Patrick Stump as the judges.
