Pitt, who takes three of his children Maddox, Pax and Shiloh, fills his wife's position at the premiere as she rests at home due to chickenpox.

AceShowbiz - Angelina Jolie could not make it to the Hollywood premiere of "Unbroken" on Monday, December 15 due to chickenpox. Filling in for his wife, Brad Pitt attended the event at the Dolby Theatre and brought along three of their kids, Maddox, Pax and Shiloh. The group sported dark suits as they posed for cameras on the red carpet.

Speaking to E! News, Pitt shared that Jolie was in good spirits despite the illness. "Her spirits are high. A little spotted and a little itchy, but her spirits are high," he said. Pitt also took his parents to the premiere.

Jolie shared in a video last week that she could not attend "Unbroken" events in the near future because she was battling chickenpox. "I just wanted to be clear and honest about why I will be missing the Unbroken events in the next few days, which is that I found out last night that I have chickenpox. So, I will be home itching and missing everyone, and I can't believe it, because this film means so much to me. I just can't believe it. But such is life, there it is. And send everyone my love, and hope everything goes well," she said.

"Unbroken" tells the story of a WWII hero Louis Zamperini who survived after his plane crashed during the war. He and two other people, however, were later taken by the Japanese Navy as prisoners of war. Starring Jack O'Connell, Miyavi, Garrett Hedlund and Finn Wittrock, the drama opens in U.S. theaters on December 25.
